Production at Vadodara facility strengthens Make in India initiative, enhances access to diagnostic testing, and supports preventive healthcare across the country

Siemens Healthineers has commenced local manufacturing of its Atellica chemistry reagents at its Vadodara facility, marking a significant step in advancing India's healthcare diagnostics ecosystem and supporting the government's Make in India initiative.

The locally produced reagents are used in routine blood tests that help detect and monitor a wide range of health conditions, including diabetes, infections, and abnormalities in organ function.

By manufacturing these critical diagnostic consumables within the country, Siemens Healthineers aims to improve accessibility, ensure a reliable supply chain, and support timely diagnosis and preventive healthcare interventions.

The move is expected to benefit healthcare providers and patients alike by enabling faster access to high-quality diagnostic solutions while strengthening India's self-reliance in healthcare technologies.

Hariharan Subramanian, Managing Director, Siemens Healthcare Pvt Ltd., said, “Bringing the expertise and legacy of over 50 years, our Vadodara facility will play a pivotal role in producing diagnostic solutions tailored to the needs of Indian laboratories and healthcare providers.”

“This move also aligns with national priorities to boost domestic manufacturing in critical healthcare segments, advancing preventive healthcare and contributing to India’s vision of self-reliance in healthcare technologies,” he said.

The Atellica Solution is widely recognized globally for its efficiency, automation, sustainability, and innovation in laboratory diagnostics.

The availability of locally manufactured Atellica chemistry reagents is expected to further enhance the platform's value proposition for hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, and healthcare networks across India.

The initiative underscores Siemens Healthineers’ commitment to strengthening India's diagnostic infrastructure while supporting the country's broader goals of improving healthcare access, promoting early disease detection, and expanding domestic manufacturing capabilities in the medical technology sector.
