South Asia’s flagship microbiome conference brings together clinicians, researchers and innovators in Bengaluru
Leucine Rich Bio Pvt Ltd, the company behind BugSpeaks, hosted the third edition of World of Microbiome 2026 in Bengaluru, bringing together clinicians, researchers, nutritionists, biotech leaders, entrepreneurs, investors and wellness professionals to discuss the growing role of microbiome science in preventive healthcare and precision wellness.
The one-day conference featured sessions on health and wellness microbiota, intellectual property and clinical trials in the wellness sector, precision nutrition and microbiome, as well as panel discussions on next-generation diagnostics and therapeutics and emerging global microbiome trends.
Nitesh Agarwal, Chief Investment Officer, Baldota Family Office Fund, who has more than 17 years of experience in private equity and venture capital investing across India, the US and Israel, attended the event as Guest of Honour.
Speakers included Dr. Debojyoti Dhar, Co-Founder & Director, Leucine Rich Bio; Kumar Sankaran, Founder & CEO, BugSpeaks; Dr. Astha Agrawal; Dr. Yugandhar Reddy, Unilever India; Dr. Kiran Ambatipudi, IIT Roorkee; Dr. Lipika Sahoo; Dr. Mukul Maurya; and Dr. Rohini Prasad, BugSpeaks, alongside experts from clinical practice, academia and industry.

Kumar Sankaran, Co-Founder and CEO of Leucine Rich Bio, delivered a session titled ‘BugSpeaks 3.0 – Microbiome with a Pinch of AI’, highlighting the potential of artificial intelligence to enhance microbiome analysis and reporting.
According to Leucine Rich Bio, the company has more than a decade of experience in microbiome research and has developed partnerships with over 100 clinical and 50 industry collaborators, with a presence across more than 15 countries.
The conference featured keynote presentations, expert sessions, panel discussions, networking opportunities and an audience quiz, with the organisers positioning World of Microbiome as a platform connecting microbiome research with real-world applications in healthcare, nutrition and wellness.
