The programme across 35 districts will be supported by qualified clinical and technical teams, while STC-UP will facilitate district-level coordination, administrative approvals and access to schools and community locations

P. D. Hinduja Hospital & Medical Research Centre and the State Transformation Commission, Government of Uttar Pradesh (STC-UP) have partnered to strengthen maternal and adolescent healthcare services across 35 districts of Uttar Pradesh.

The programme was launched by Brajesh Pathak, Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Minister of Medical Health & Family Welfare, at the Ram Prakash Gupta Maternity & Child State Referral Hospital in Lucknow.

During the launch, the Deputy Chief Minister flagged off a fully equipped Hinduja Mobile Health Unit, which will provide point-of-care diagnostics, counselling and referral support to communities. He expressed appreciation for the Hinduja Group’s initiative and said improving healthcare access for mothers and children was critical to building a healthier future for the country.

The collaboration is aimed at integrating the initiative with the state’s existing healthcare system and taking specialised healthcare services closer to underserved communities.

The initiative will focus on two key beneficiary groups. Matrishakti will cover pregnant and lactating women under the Mukhyamantri Matritva Suraksha Sankalp Yojna, while Yuva will focus on adolescents aged 13 to 19 years in government and aided schools as well as community settings.

Ashok P. Hinduja, Chairman, P. D. Hinduja Hospital & Medical Research Centre, said the initiative builds on the hospital’s commitment to take its healthcare expertise beyond its institutional boundaries and closer to communities across India.

The Uttar Pradesh programme is part of P. D. Hinduja Hospital’s national health initiative, “Saving Lives. Building a Healthier Bharat,” which was inaugurated by President Droupadi Murmu on February 24, 2026, at Lok Bhavan, Mumbai, as part of the hospital’s 75th-year celebrations.

The year-long initiative seeks to build on the hospital’s healthcare legacy and contribute to the broader vision of a healthier and more prosperous Viksit Bharat. The Uttar Pradesh partnership represents an expansion of this effort through a combination of mobile healthcare delivery, community outreach, diagnostics, counselling and referral services.

The launch event was also attended by H.E. Harisoa Lalatiana Accouche, High Commissioner of Seychelles to India, as Guest of Honour, along with Manoj Kumar Singh, Chief Executive Officer, State Transformation Commission, Government of Uttar Pradesh; Dr. C. M. Singh, Director, RML; Joy Chakraborty, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, P. D. Hinduja Hospital; and Dr. S. K. Chadda, Group President, Corporate Affairs, Hinduja Group Ltd.
