Women’s wellness initiative promoted preventive healthcare, fitness, and self-care awareness across the Mira Bhayandar community

Wockhardt Hospitals Mira Road organised a special Mother’s Day Walkathon at Asmita Club to promote women’s wellness and preventive healthcare, drawing participation from nearly 300 mothers and women from across the Mira Bhayandar region.

Held between 6:30 am and 8:30 am, the event focused on encouraging women to prioritise physical and mental well-being through fitness, awareness, and community engagement. Families, senior citizens, fitness enthusiasts, and local residents participated in the initiative aimed at spreading the message that women’s health and self-care should not be neglected.

As part of the programme, participants underwent complimentary health screenings including CBC (Complete Blood Count), fasting blood sugar, liver function test (LFT), renal function test (RFT), lipid profile, and blood pressure check-ups. Refreshments, caps, and goodie bags were also distributed to participants.

The event was organised around the theme of Women’s Health and Self-Care, highlighting the tendency of women to prioritise family responsibilities over their own health needs. Doctors and healthcare experts at the event also educated participants about the growing prevalence of lifestyle diseases and the importance of preventive care.

Dr. Sushil Kumar said, “Today’s overwhelming participation reflects that women are becoming more aware about their health and are ready to take positive steps towards preventive care. Mothers play the most important role in every family, and their health directly impacts the well-being of the entire household.”
