A high-level delegation from the Solomon Islands visited Yashoda Medicity to explore potential healthcare cooperation, with discussions focusing on specialised medical care, clinical knowledge exchange, training and access to advanced healthcare expertise.
The delegation, led by H.E. Anthony Makabo, High Commissioner to India, included senior officials from the Solomon Islands Ministry of Health and Medical Services, National Referral Hospital and Medical Store.
The visit provided an overview of Yashoda Medicity’s Centres of Excellence, multidisciplinary care model and technology-enabled clinical infrastructure.
Discussions between the two sides focused on potential areas for clinical cooperation and knowledge sharing, including specialist consultations, second opinions, professional training and access to advanced treatment for complex medical conditions.
The visiting delegation interacted with a multidisciplinary panel of Yashoda Medicity specialists across medical oncology, radiation oncology, neurosurgery, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, urology, renal transplantation, robotic surgery, paediatric surgery, paediatric cardiothoracic surgery, haematology and bone marrow transplantation, among other specialties.
The delegation also reviewed Yashoda Medicity’s approach to managing complex cases through coordinated multidisciplinary care, with sessions covering oncology, robotic and minimally invasive surgery, transplantation, paediatric care and other specialised medical services.
Dr. P.N. Arora, Chairman & Managing Director, Yashoda Group of Hospitals, said the engagement provided an opportunity to share India’s experience in combining advanced technology with specialised clinical expertise and to explore practical avenues for making specialised healthcare and knowledge more accessible across borders.

He identified specialist consultation, training and access to advanced treatment as potential areas for continued cooperation.
