The Total Lift Bed addresses these challenges by enabling multiple daily verticalisation and graded weight-bearing sessions, supporting earlier functional recovery

Yashoda Medicity has strengthened its critical care infrastructure with the introduction of the VitalGo Total Lift Bed (TLB) in partnership with Paramount Bed.

With this move, it has become one of the hospitals in Delhi-NCR to adopt the advanced rehabilitation technology aimed at improving recovery outcomes for critically ill patients.

Unlike conventional ICU beds, the VitalGo Total Lift Bed is an advanced rehabilitation platform that enables In-Bed Verticalization Therapy through an integrated Weight Bearing Control System. The technology allows patients to be gradually and safely moved from a lying position to a full standing position while remaining fully supported within the bed, facilitating early mobilisation during intensive care.

Prolonged immobilisation in critically ill patients can lead to complications such as ICU-acquired weakness, muscle loss, respiratory impairment, delayed rehabilitation, and longer hospital stays.

The Total Lift Bed addresses these challenges by enabling multiple daily verticalisation and graded weight-bearing sessions, supporting earlier functional recovery.

Dr. P.N. Arora, Chairman and Managing Director, Yashoda Medicity, said, "Critical care today is focused not only on survival but also on restoring function and improving the quality of recovery. The introduction of the VitalGo Total Lift Bed reflects our commitment to adopting globally recognised technologies that support evidence-based critical care practices. Early rehabilitation has become an integral component of intensive care, and such innovations enable our multidisciplinary teams to deliver more comprehensive and patient-centred care."

The technology also supports respiratory recovery by improving lung recruitment, facilitating secretion clearance, enhancing ventilation-perfusion matching, improving oxygenation, and reducing the risk of aspiration and ventilator-associated pneumonia.

It further contributes to cardiovascular recovery by helping patients gradually adapt to upright positioning, improving haemodynamic stability, enhancing circulation, and lowering the risk of blood clot formation.

The bed incorporates powered patient boosting, automatic repositioning, integrated line management, enhanced mobility features, and advanced safety systems that improve caregiver efficiency and patient safety.

Additional features include manual CPR release, safety dampers, subframe tilting for enhanced stability, fall-prevention mechanisms, and compliance with IEC 60601-2-52 entrapment safety standards.
