AstraZeneca Pharma India has reported a strong 30% year-on-year growth in the second quarter of FY2026-27, with revenue from operations rising to Rs 7,291 crore, driven by robust performance across its key therapy areas.

The company attributed its performance to disciplined execution, operational efficiency, portfolio expansion and growing adoption of innovative therapies addressing unmet medical needs in India.
Oncology remained the biggest revenue contributor, generating Rs 5,085 crore in Q2, up from Rs 3,978 crore in the year-ago quarter. Revenue from the segment reached Rs 9,733 crore in the first half, compared with Rs 7,674 crore a year earlier.
The biopharmaceuticals business, covering CVRM, respiratory and immunology (R&I), and vaccines and immunotherapies (V&I), posted Q2 revenue of Rs 1,610 crore against Rs 1,268 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. First-half revenue stood at Rs 3,229 crore, up from Rs 2,458 crore.
The rare diseases business also registered significant growth, with Q2 revenue increasing to Rs 204 crore from Rs 38 crore. Revenue for the first half rose to Rs 347 crore from Rs 42 crore in the year-ago period.
Praveen Rao Akkinepally, Country President & Managing Director, AstraZeneca Pharma India, said: "The continued growth demonstrates the strength of AstraZeneca’s science-led portfolio and our ability to translate innovation into meaningful impact for patients in India. We are accelerating our efforts across oncology, biopharmaceuticals and rare disease. Our focus remains on building strong partnerships across the healthcare ecosystem to bring innovative medicines to more patients faster and improve health outcomes across the country.”
AstraZeneca secured several key regulatory approvals during the quarter, strengthening its presence across cancer treatment and rare diseases.
In oncology, trastuzumab deruxtecan received approvals across three treatment settings involving HER2-positive breast cancer. These include its use following taxane, trastuzumab and pertuzumab (THP) in adults with HER2-positive Stage II or III early breast cancer; treatment of adults with HER2-positive early breast cancer who have residual invasive disease following neoadjuvant treatment; and its combination with pertuzumab as first-line treatment for adults with unresectable or metastatic HER2-positive breast cancer.
The company also secured approval for benralizumab for patients aged 12 years and above with hypereosinophilic syndrome without an identifiable non-haematologic secondary cause.
Further strengthening its haematological cancer portfolio, acalabrutinib received approval in combination with venetoclax, with or without obinutuzumab, for previously untreated chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL).
Another approval covers acalabrutinib in combination with bendamustine and rituximab for adults with previously untreated mantle cell lymphoma (MCL).
The latest approvals and strong financial performance underscore AstraZeneca's continued push to expand access to innovative treatments and strengthen its position in India's rapidly evolving healthcare market.
