The profit drop was driven by a sharp escalation in total expenses
Supriya Lifescience Ltd. reported a standalone net profit of Rs. 29.25 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2026, marking a 42% decline compared to Rs. 50.40 crore in the same period last year.
Despite the bottom-line contraction, the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) manufacturer saw its revenue from operations rise 3.2% year-on-year to Rs. 206.29 crore, up from Rs. 199.83 crore in Q2 FY26. Sequentially, the net profit showed a recovery from ₹24.04 crore recorded in the first quarter of FY27.
The profit drop was driven by a sharp escalation in total expenses, which jumped 27% year-on-year to Rs. 170.81 crore. Higher costs for material consumption, power, and operating expenses squeezed margins, bringing the EBITDA margin down to 22.0% from roughly 36% a year ago.
During the quarter, the company launched two new anesthetic liquid inhalation products from its Ambernath facility and appointed Mangesh Vaze as its Chief Operating Officer. For the first half of FY27 (H1 FY27), Supriya Lifescience posted a cumulative revenue of Rs. 396.04 crore and a net profit of Rs. 53.29 crore.
