The biopharma division of IGL reported net revenue of Rs 246 crore, EBITDA of Rs 29 crore and a gross margin of 40.1% in FY26

Ennature Bio Pharma is on the bourses now.

The pharma company's NSE & BSE debut marks a significant milestone in its growth journey as it looks to scale its integrated natural ingredients business and strengthen its position in global markets.

The company enters the listed space with three complementary businesses — plant-based pharmaceutical ingredients, biopolymers and nutraceuticals — and an ambitious strategy to move up the value chain through science-backed botanical ingredients, proprietary technologies and clinically validated formulations.

At the heart of its growth strategy is the nutraceutical business, which Ennature aims to transform from a conventional botanical extracts operation into a portfolio of differentiated, branded ingredients targeting high-growth health and wellness segments.

The biopharma division of IGL reported net revenue of Rs 246 crore, EBITDA of Rs 29 crore and a gross margin of 40.1% in FY26, providing a strong operational foundation for the company's next phase of expansion.

The plant-based active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) business remains Ennature's largest revenue contributor, accounting for 67% of sales. Its portfolio includes thiocolchicoside, colchicine, nicotine and vinpocetine.

Built over more than 15 years, the business has established a customer base of over 150 active clients across more than 26 countries. Exports accounted for 54% of segment revenues in FY26.

Ennature plans to strengthen this established business by introducing one new API annually, expanding its footprint in regulated markets and deepening its presence in nicotine replacement therapy.

The company's biopolymer business, contributing 16% of sales, provides exposure to multiple industrial and consumer markets through guar gum and speciality gums.

Its products serve a wide range of industries, including oil and gas, food and beverages, personal care, paints, textiles and supplements. With customers across 23 countries, the segment generated 69% of its FY26 revenues from exports.

The focus going forward is on developing specialised derivatives, widening dietary fibre applications and increasing the share of higher-value products — a strategy aimed at improving the business mix and expanding its market opportunities.

While APIs and biopolymers provide the company's established revenue base, nutraceuticals represent its most significant growth opportunity.

Currently contributing 17% of sales, the segment is undergoing a strategic shift away from standardised botanical extracts towards branded, science-backed ingredients designed for specific health categories.

These include women's health, bone and joint health, eye health and metabolic health.

Ennature's portfolio features five flagship brands: Aspargize, Gingeren, Maxicuma, Xanthogreen and Berbisol. The business serves more than 90 active customers across over 19 countries, with exports accounting for 83% of FY26 revenues.

The company intends to expand its branded portfolio to six to eight ingredients, strengthen distribution networks across the US, Europe and Asia, and forge deeper relationships with leading nutraceutical players.

Ennature is betting on proprietary technology and scientific validation to distinguish its ingredients in an increasingly competitive global nutraceutical market.

Its technology platforms, LIMAN and SCEMOD, are focused on improving ingredient solubility and bio-absorption — two critical factors in developing more effective botanical formulations.

The company's innovation pipeline includes nine patents filed, five granted patents and four patents under review. Its research programme also encompasses 20 clinical trials, underscoring its emphasis on building scientific evidence around its ingredients.

To strengthen its international presence, Ennature has also established a local office in the US, supporting customer engagement, market coverage and stocking capabilities.

A manufacturing network spanning Dehradun and Kashipur underpins operations across the company's three business verticals.

The facilities have manufacturing capacities of 1,600 metric tonnes and 24,000 metric tonnes, respectively, and are equipped with capabilities covering supercritical fluid extraction, solvent and aqueous extraction, bio-fermentation and semi-formulation.

The manufacturing platform is supported by quality systems and certifications, including EU-GMP, CEPs, USFDA and NSF-GMP, providing the operational backbone for serving domestic and international customers.

Ennature's growth roadmap rests on a three-pronged strategy: expanding its established API portfolio, moving towards specialised and higher-value biopolymer products, and accelerating the development of branded nutraceutical ingredients.

Its stock market listing marks a new chapter in that journey, as the company seeks to leverage its pharmaceutical expertise, research capabilities and manufacturing infrastructure to capture a larger share of the global natural ingredients market.

With a growing emphasis on proprietary technology, clinical validation and branded botanical solutions, Ennature is looking to move beyond being a supplier of natural ingredients and build a differentiated position in the science-led health and wellness industry.
