OmniActive Health Technologies has entered the women’s health category in India with Fenavari, a proprietary botanical ingredient developed to support women through perimenopause, menopause and post-menopause.

Fenavari combines standardized extracts of shatavari (Asparagus racemosus) and fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum) using OmniActive’s proprietary Integrated Actives technology. The ingredient is standardized to 6% shatavarin IV and 4% protodioscin, using HPLC analysis.

The launch targets a growing but relatively under-addressed area of women’s health in India. The country has approximately 159 million women aged 40-59, while the Indian Menopause Society’s 2026 Clinical Practice Guidelines estimate that India had around 46 million women aged 45-49 in 2024, projected to rise to approximately 57 million by 2050.

A clinical study involving 138 Indian women aged 40-60 evaluated Fenavari at 300 mg and 500 mg doses. Published in Women’s Health Reports, the study reported improvements in menopause-related symptoms compared with placebo, with benefits observed as early as day 14.

According to the company, the study showed up to a 52% reduction in hot flashes at 300 mg and 61% at 500 mg, while night sweats declined by up to 47% and 51%, respectively.

The study also reported improvements in sleep quality, mood, occasional anxiety, sexual wellness and markers associated with hormonal balance.

OmniActive said Fenavari was developed through research into the mechanisms of action and potential synergy between shatavari and fenugreek. The company also used AI-based validation to support its assessment of the botanical combination's mechanisms and synergistic effects.

The ingredient is manufactured using green solvents and is free from estrogen, hormones and soy, according to the company.

Keya Shah, Senior Director, Women’s Health Category, OmniActive, said the ingredient combines the traditional use of shatavari and fenugreek with clinical research to offer brands and healthcare professionals a science-backed botanical option for women's midlife health.

Abhijeet Morde, Vice President, Early Discovery & Translation Science, OmniActive, said the company plans to continue its clinical research programme to further substantiate Fenavari's scientific foundation.
