Shilpa Medicare posted an EBITDA of Rs. 142 crore
Shilpa Medicare Ltd has reported a consolidated net profit of Rs. 79.2 crore for the second quarter of FY27, marking a sharp 80% increase compared to Rs. 44 crore during the same period last year.
The pharmaceutical and biotechnology major reported robust growth across its core operational verticals. Consolidated revenue from operations surged 43% year-on-year to reach Rs. 529.12 crore, driven by strong momentum in its Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) and formulations divisions. Total income climbed to Rs. 537.76 crore, up from Rs. 371.66 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.
On the operational front, Shilpa Medicare posted an EBITDA of Rs. 142 crore, reflecting a 30.9% jump from Rs. 109 crore in Q2 FY26. However, the EBITDA margin saw slight contraction, coming in at 26.8% compared to 29.3% a year ago, as operating expenses grew to Rs. 433.7 crore.
Segment-wise, the API business delivered record quarterly sales and accounted for nearly 47% of total revenue. The formulation division also expanded aggressively, supported by new product rollouts and rising capacity utilization across regulated export markets.
For the first half of FY27 (H1), Shilpa Medicare’s cumulative net income reached Rs. 180.1 crore on total revenues of over Rs. 1,006.68 crore. The company noted that ongoing investments in contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) capacities, peptide manufacturing, and regulatory milestones like European GMP approvals for its Jadcherla facility position the company for steady export momentum.
