The installation, with a capacity of 1,200 kWp, consists of 2,448 solar modules spread across approximately 6,200 m² of company land

Dishman Carbogen Amcis has announced that its Switzerland-based subsidiary, CARBOGEN AMCIS AG, has commissioned a new ground-mounted photovoltaic system at its Neuland site. This marks a significant step in the company’s push toward cleaner energy and reduced emissions.

The installation, with a capacity of 1,200 kWp, consists of 2,448 solar modules spread across approximately 6,200 m² of company land. The company says the system ranks among the most efficient conventional ground-mounted photovoltaic installations in the Swiss Mittelland, with performance approaching that of vertical alpine systems.

Ground-mounted solar projects remain uncommon in Switzerland, making this installation notable. CARBOGEN AMCIS is among a small number of companies to deploy such a system directly on an industrial site. The electricity generated will primarily be consumed on-site, supporting efforts to reduce CO₂ emissions across operations.

The project was developed in partnership with energy and infrastructure providers IWB (Industrielle Werke Basel) and its subsidiary Planeco, which handled planning and execution.

“With the commissioning of this photovoltaic system, we are making a targeted investment in a sustainable and future-oriented energy supply for our site. The project is an important milestone on our path to consistently implementing our environmental goals,” says Stephan Fritsch, Chief Executive Officer of CARBOGEN AMCIS.

The plant was officially inaugurated after a three-month construction phase, attended by Government Councilor Dieter Egli, Head of the Department of Economic Affairs and Internal Affairs of the Canton of Aargau; Urs Wiederkehr, mayor of the municipality of Hunzenschwil; Florian Gautschi from the cantonal economic development agency; along with representatives from IWB, Planeco, and company leadership.

The company says the solar installation forms part of a broader sustainability strategy aimed at improving energy efficiency and steadily increasing the share of renewable energy used in production.
