The collaboration brings together AIG Hospitals’ high-volume clinical expertise, advanced innovation capabilities, and growing artificial intelligence-led healthcare initiatives

AIG Hospitals has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the country’s apex medical research body under the Government of India.

The partnership aims to accelerate innovation in digital health, healthcare delivery, and translational medicine, aligning clinical excellence with national research priorities.

The collaboration brings together AIG Hospitals’ high-volume clinical expertise, advanced innovation capabilities, and growing artificial intelligence-led healthcare initiatives with ICMR’s expansive research network and policy leadership. The objective is to co-create scalable, evidence-based solutions that address India’s rapidly evolving healthcare needs.

Speaking on the development, Dr. D. Nageshwar Reddy, Chairman, AIG Hospitals, said the partnership reflects AIG’s long-standing belief that the future of healthcare lies in the seamless integration of patient care, research, and innovation. “By combining our strengths in high-quality patient care and translational research with ICMR’s leadership in national health research, we aim to create solutions that are scientifically robust, scalable, and impactful for the larger population.”

Under the MoU, both institutions will undertake joint research studies in digital health, healthcare delivery models, and allied disciplines, while also co-developing grant proposals and pursuing national as well as international funding opportunities. The collaboration will enable the exchange of scientific expertise, data, and research insights within all regulatory and ethical frameworks.

Dr. Rajiv Bahl, Director General, ICMR, said such partnerships are critical for building a future-ready health ecosystem in India. “By bringing together complementary strengths, we can generate high-quality evidence, foster innovation, and ensure that research outcomes are translated into tangible benefits for patients and the healthcare system.”

A key focus area of the partnership will be translation of research into real-world clinical practice, ensuring that discoveries in digital tools, AI-driven systems, and healthcare management lead to measurable improvements in patient outcomes.
