LGC Group, a global leader in life sciences, announced the official opening of its new Organic Chemistry Synthesis Centre of Excellence in Vaughan, Ontario.

Backed by a CAD $100 million investment, the 203,000 ft² (17,200 m²) facility is among the largest of its kind worldwide and significantly expands the capacity of Toronto Research Chemicals (TRC) to serve pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and life sciences customers across the globe.

“This $100 million investment is about building capacity at scale, giving our customers faster and more reliable access to the essential tools that enable breakthroughs,” said Joydeep Goswami, CEO of LGC Group. “From Vaughan, our scientists will help address challenges such as precision medicine, PFAS detection, and sustainable chemistry, while delivering solutions that protect health, food, and the environment worldwide.”

Products manufactured at the new Vaughan facility will be shipped to more than 170 countries, supporting research in areas including cancer, infectious disease, mental health, and environmental safety. For customers, the expansion delivers enhanced reliability, greater scale, and faster delivery at a time when demand for high-quality, specialised research chemicals continues to rise.

“TRC’s science may begin in our labs, but its impact reaches hospitals, communities, and industries around the world that rely on accurate and reliable answers,” said Bruno Rossi, EVP and General Manager of LGC Standards. “With this new facility, we are building on four decades of expertise to deliver broader, faster, and more sustainable innovation for scientists everywhere.”
