Dr. Chetan P. appointed Head – Medical, Regulatory and PV at Novartis India

Physician-executive brings cross-industry leadership across medical affairs, regulatory strategy and pharmacovigilance, with therapeutic expertise spanning neurology, cardiovascular sciences and immunology


Dr. Chetan P. has been appointed Head – Medical, Regulatory and PV at Novartis India Limited (NIL), taking on a strategic leadership role spanning medical affairs, regulatory strategy and pharmacovigilance.

Prior to this appointment, Dr. Chetan served as Consultant – Strategy, Medical, Regulatory and PV at ChrysCapital Investment. Before that, he spent four years at Menarini Asia-Pacific, holding a series of leadership roles including Head Aesthetics, Head Medical & Regulatory Affairs, and Head Medical Affairs.

Earlier in his career, he held key positions at Wockhardt Ltd., Eisai Pharmaceuticals India, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, and Alkem Laboratories Ltd., building a career that spans both multinational and domestic pharmaceutical companies.

Dr. Chetan holds MBBS and MD qualifications and brings deep therapeutic expertise across neurology, diabetes, cardiovascular sciences, immunology, dermatology, aesthetics, nutrition, gastroenterology and anti-infectives. 

With over 14 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, he has contributed to more than 40 publications in national and international indexed journals and has played a role in significant medical initiatives, including the launch of Perampanel (Fycompa) during his time at Eisai.

In his new role at Novartis India Limited, Dr. Chetan will leverage this multidisciplinary experience across clinical medicine, regulatory affairs and medico-marketing to strengthen the company's medical, regulatory and pharmacovigilance functions, drive innovation, optimise product lifecycle management, and champion scientific excellence within the organisation.
