Pabitra Kumar Bhattacharya has been appointed Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at Unichem Laboratories Limited.

Bhattacharya brings extensive pharmaceutical operations experience, having previously served as Managing Director at Unichem Laboratories Limited and at Krebs Biochemicals & Inds. Limited. He has also held the roles of Director at Ramdev Chemical Pvt. Ltd., and President – Operations (API) and Senior Vice President at Ipca Laboratories Limited.

In his new role, Bhattacharya returns to Unichem Laboratories to lead the company, bringing decades of cross-industry API operations and manufacturing leadership experience to the position.

Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions as Vice President – API Operations and Process Engineering at Sun Pharma, Senior Vice President – API Operations at Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, and Senior Vice President (Operations Corporate) at Wanbury Limited. 

He also spent time at Unimark Remedies Ltd across multiple roles, including Vice President Operations, Senior General Manager, General Manager and Deputy General Manager Project.

His early career included roles as Production Manager and Deputy Technical Manager at Jubilant Pharma Limited, and progressively senior positions at Amoli Organics Limited, including Technical Manager, Assistant Manager, Project Executive, Project Officer and Project Engineer.
