Boston Scientific hit by cyberattack disrupting processing and shipments

Boston Scientific has disclosed a cyberattack that is disrupting access to IT systems and business applications, affecting its ability to process and ship customer orders.

The medtech major said it identified the incident on August 25, 2026, and disclosed it in a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) the following day.

The company is investigating the full scope and impact of the attack and has not yet determined its operational or financial consequences. 

Boston Scientific said the incident has affected information systems supporting parts of its operations and that disruptions are expected to continue.

The company is working to restore affected systems and functions, but the timeline for full recovery remains uncertain.

Boston Scientific also said it has not yet determined whether the cybersecurity incident is reasonably likely to have a material impact on its business.

The incident adds Boston Scientific to a growing list of medtech and healthcare companies confronting cybersecurity threats, highlighting the increasing vulnerability of digitally connected healthcare supply chains and critical business systems.
