Surya Hospitals expands advanced women-centric health services

Surya Hospitals has inaugurated the “Amber Wing,” a dedicated women-centric healthcare facility aimed at expanding access to specialised surgical care, preventive health services, advanced diagnostics and multidisciplinary treatment for women.

The new facility was launched in the presence of actor and women’s health awareness advocate Yami Gautam Dhar, alongside senior clinicians, healthcare professionals and hospital leadership teams.

The Amber Wing has been developed as part of Surya Hospitals’ broader strategy to strengthen dedicated healthcare infrastructure for women and children. With the addition of 55 new beds, the Santacruz-based hospital campus now has a total capacity of over 250 beds focused on women and child healthcare services.

Speaking at the inauguration, Dr. Bhupendra S. Avasthi, Founder, Chairman & Managing Director, Surya Hospitals, said the new facility has been designed to address the growing demand for integrated women-focused healthcare infrastructure in India.

“Women’s healthcare requires dedicated infrastructure that can address not only preventive and diagnostic needs but also specialised surgical interventions. The Amber Wing has been created as an advanced surgical centre for women, adding significant capacity to our existing unit and enabling access to specialised surgeries, critical care, and integrated treatment pathways under one roof,” he said.

The Amber Wing will house specialised consultation chambers, advanced diagnostics and screening facilities, cardiology and cardiac surgery services, minimally invasive gastrointestinal surgeries, plastic and cosmetic surgery, and critical care infrastructure.

Speaking on the occasion, Yami Gautam Dhar said, “Women’s health often takes a backseat as many women prioritise the well-being of their families over their own. Dedicated healthcare initiatives such as the Amber Wing are important in encouraging timely consultations, regular screenings, greater awareness around preventive care along with specialised surgical treatment when needed,” she said.

Dr. Bhuvan D., Zonal Director, Surya Hospitals, said the expansion would significantly enhance the hospital’s advanced surgical and clinical capabilities across Mumbai.

“The facility will enable us to introduce and expand key specialties including Cardiac Sciences, Cardiac Surgery, Orthopedics, and Robotic Joint Replacement Surgery, supported by modern infrastructure and multidisciplinary expertise,” he said.
