Rad-Sure blood irradiation indicators are FDA 510 (k) cleared medical devices that offer positive visual verification of irradiation at the minimum specified dose
Ashland Rad-Sure blood irradiation indicators have been approved by the Association for Advancement of Blood and Biotherapies (AABB) Standards-Compliant Product Program designed to offer assurance that blood community products conform to AABB standards.
“We are pleased that our newly launched Rad-Sure blood irradiation indicators for both gamma and x-ray irradiation sources were recently found to be AABB standard-compliant, providing important assurance to blood banks and transfusion services,” said Anandh Viswanatha, business director, diagnostic films, life sciences, Ashland.
Rad-Sure blood irradiation indicators are FDA 510 (k) cleared medical devices that offer positive visual verification of irradiation at the minimum specified dose. When attached to blood products, Rad-Sure™ blood irradiation indicators show the status for blood product irradiation. The easy-to-use, non-subjective design allows medical professionals to quickly determine whether the blood product has been irradiated. Stored at room temperature, the new versions of Rad- Sure™ blood irradiation indicators can be used interchangeably with gamma and x-ray radiation sources.
