Godavari Biorefineries Limited has announced that the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) officially granted a patent for the use of specific chemical compounds in treating viral infections.

The patent, titled “Use of Compounds for Treating Viral Infections,” covers compounds that inhibit V-ATPase activity in cells, with applications in manufacturing antiviral medicaments.

The patent strengthens the company's global intellectual property protection in the biopharmaceutical space. However, near-term operational focus remains closely tied to commodity sugar and ethanol segment turnarounds.
