The acquisition is expected to strengthen Inceptua's Pharmacy Model capabilities in North America
Inceptua Group, a global provider of clinical trial supply and early access services, has acquired SupplyRx Inc., a US-based technology company providing cloud-based digital solutions for clinical trial pharmacy programmes in the US and Canada.
The acquisition is expected to strengthen Inceptua's Pharmacy Model capabilities in North America, combining SupplyRx's digital platform, pharmacy networks and processes with Inceptua's nearly three decades of experience in global clinical supply, sourcing, packaging and labelling.
SupplyRx's cloud-based portal enables clinical trial sponsors and sites to manage pharmacy programmes and accelerate patient access to investigational and other medicines. The platform is designed to improve supply-chain efficiency, reduce costs and minimise medicine wastage.
The combined offering will also enable Inceptua to support retail pharmacy programmes and pharmacy-driven clinical trial supply across the US and Canada, expanding the company's capabilities beyond traditional clinical supply services.
“This acquisition advances our strategy to enhance our pharmacy offering via a real-time portal with greater access to selected specialty pharmacies and limited distribution drugs,” said Stefan Fraenkel, CEO, Inceptua Group.
He added that the integration of digital tools and data-driven patient-support solutions would strengthen Inceptua's ability to deliver more efficient clinical supply strategies while improving access to medicines for trial participants.
SupplyRx's leadership team will join Inceptua, ensuring continuity for customers and retaining the company's expertise in pharmacy-driven clinical trial supply.
Brian Horan, CEO and co-founder, SupplyRx, said the company had pioneered the pharmacy card model for clinical trials more than a decade ago and that joining Inceptua would enable the technology and expertise to reach a broader customer base.
The acquisition expands Inceptua's capabilities across the clinical trial supply and pharmacy services ecosystem, combining technology-enabled pharmacy fulfilment with global sourcing and supply-chain expertise to support sponsors, clinical sites and patients.
