B Medical Systems, a global leader in the medical cold chain industry, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat, as part of the Investment Promotion Activity for Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2022. As per the agreement, Rs.100 crore will be invested for the manufacturing of medical and cold chain equipment aimed at supporting the Indian healthcare system.

The MoU was signed on the 22nd of November 2021 in the presence of the Hon. Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri. Bhupendrabhai Patel, and by the CEO of B Medical Systems India. Jesal Doshi. The signing of the MoU is the continuation of investment activities by B Medical Systems following the bilateral summit between the Hon. Prime Minister of India, Shri. Narendra Modi, and the Hon. Prime Minister of Luxembourg, Mr Xavier Bettel, on the 19th of November 2020.

B Medical Systems India was established in early 2021 after B Medical Systems received the invitation from the Hon. Prime Minister of India Shri. Narendra Modi to establish a production facility in India to support the country’s immunisation efforts. In Aug 2021, B Medical Systems India commenced the operations of its corporate office in Mumbai and the development of its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Mundra, Gujarat, is nearing completion. This manufacturing facility will be B Medical Systems’ first plant outside Luxembourg and is expected to generate 100 new jobs, with several hundred additional indirect employment opportunities in the immediate short term.

“We are proud and delighted by this opportunity. Our facility and products will help India strengthen its medical cold chain infrastructure and promote excellent healthcare across the nation. Thanks to the Government of India, the Government of Luxembourg and the Government of Gujarat we were able to establish our facilities in a very short period. We want to make India the vaccine cold chain capital of the world and offer the best medical cold chain equipment to hospitals, immunisation programs, laboratories, hospitals and other clinical and research institutions, to store and transport all their thermosensitive biologicals.” said Jesal Doshi, CEO of B Medical Systems
