ENTOD Pharma launches surgical division HyTek

The division will focus on products that are required during ophthalmic surgical procedures like cataracts and refractive surgeries among others

ENTOD Pharmaceuticals announced the launch of their super-speciality ophthalmic surgical division, 'HyTek' which will cater to advanced solutions for ophthalmic surgical needs.

The four-decade-old speciality pharmaceutical company which has interests in ophthalmic, ENT,  and paediatric segments derives 60 per cent of its sales from the ophthalmic segment.

The HyTek division will focus on products that are required during ophthalmic surgical procedures like cataracts, refractive surgeries among others.

Commenting on the launch, Executive Director, Nikkhil K. Masurkar said "ENTOD is a speciality pharmaceutical company, however, our main focus has always been ophthalmology. We have huge expectations with the launch of this new division. It will allow us to strengthen ENTOD's collaboration with the ophthalmic medical fraternity.’’

He further adds, ``“With more than 150 finished ophthalmic formulations in the market we’re always working on developing newer and safer speciality preservatives and excipients for the ophthalmic pharmaceutical sector.

The HyTek division has been launched in Mumbai and there are plans to expand to other metros and mini-metros.

All their products are manufactured at their state of the art WHO GMP and US FDA approved manufacturing plants and ENTOD aims to provide innovative ophthalmic medicines in countries where there is an acute shortage of such formulations.

Eye diseases in India are on the rise. Every year, close to 5 million cataract surgeries are performed in India. With acute eye diseases on the rise and advancements in ophthalmic medical equipment, the ophthalmic surgical market is expected to register a CAGR of 7.3% from 2020-2025.
