Global Hospital launches robotic surgery technology ‘Da Vinci Xi System’

  • By IPP Bureau | February 13, 2023

Global Hospital has announced the launch of the Da Vinci Xi Robotic Surgical System, which is designed to allow surgeons to perform minimally invasive surgeries with precision and safety. This advanced system will be used in various surgical fields, including urology, oncology, gynaecology, liver transplantation, thoracic, cardiology, paediatric, and gastrointestinal surgery, with the goal of improving patient outcomes and quality of life.

The Da Vinci Xi system has three-dimensional imaging technology and superior mobility, allowing for a faster recovery time compared to open surgery. It features boom-mounted arms with multi-position setup joints that maximize the surgical workspace, both internally and externally. The system allows for greater arm positioning capabilities and the surgeon can operate across multiple quadrants with ease, enabling a wide range of procedures to be performed from a single cart location.

Dr. Vivek Talaulikar, Chief Executive Officer of Global Hospital, Parel Mumbai, said "We are always striving to improve medical technologies and techniques to make procedures convenient, minimally invasive, and cost-effective. The Da Vinci Xi Robotic Surgery System provides computer-guided, magnified, 3-D visualization and has impressive results. Recovery time is faster than conventional surgeries and the technology is quick, precise, flexible, pain-free, and safe, with a lower risk of infection, reduced blood loss, shorter hospital stays, and smaller scars. Patients can quickly resume their routine after the surgery and experience improved quality of life."

Dr. Talaulikar added, "Our goal is to take surgical care to another level and make treatments less painful and stress-free for the patient. With the help of the Da Vinci Xi robot, our surgeons will be able to perform surgeries with greater accuracy and without surgical errors. Robotic surgery is currently the number one choice for patient satisfaction and is covered by insurance. At Global Hospital, we prioritize our patients' needs and use technologies to make surgeries accurate and cost-effective."
