Activities across Athulya centres highlight companionship, independence and dignity as key pillars of senior care
Athulya Senior Care marked National Senior Citizens Day on August 21 with a series of activities across its centres, bringing together residents, families and care teams to celebrate senior citizens and promote companionship and wellbeing.
The celebrations included games, music, cultural performances, interactive sessions and cake-cutting ceremonies, providing opportunities for residents to engage with their families and care teams and strengthen social connections.
Speaking on the occasion, Srinivasan G., Founder & CEO, Athulya Senior Care, said, “National Senior Citizens Day is an opportunity to celebrate the experiences, contributions and individuality of our seniors. At Athulya, we believe that senior care must go beyond addressing medical needs to creating an environment where seniors feel connected, independent and valued.”
Athulya said the initiative reflects its approach to senior care, which extends beyond clinical requirements to focus on dignity, independence, social connection and quality of life.
The company's senior-care ecosystem spans assisted living, rehabilitation, transition care, mind and memory care, palliative care and dedicated geriatric hospital services, supporting seniors and their families across different stages of ageing.
The celebrations were designed to reinforce the importance of social engagement and active living in senior care, while providing residents with opportunities to participate in shared experiences and maintain meaningful connections within their communities.
