GarbhaGudi IVF Centre, Bengaluru's largest network of IVF Centres with 7 centres across the city, has launched a three-week long travel campaign ‘Ghar Ghar Garbhagudi’ to spread awareness about infertility and make Karnataka infertility free. The campaign involves a specially equipped vehicle that will traverse across Karnataka, showcasing street plays and informative talks to dispel misconceptions related to infertility.

The campaign was flagged off from Town Hall, Bengaluru, on 29th August, and it will pass through cities such as Channapatna, Mysuru, Mandya, Madikeri, Somwarpet, Hassan, Dakshina Kannada, Haveri, Gadag, Gokak, etc. Covering a total of 35+ cities and towns, the campaign will culminate on the 15th of September in Bengaluru.

According to the National Family Health Survey, the fertility rate in the state has declined significantly, reaching a historic low of 1.7 births per woman in 2020, in contrast to 3.6 in 1981. Despite the availability of advanced reproductive techniques and treatments, misconceptions around infertility and IVF have deterred many couples from seeking appropriate assistance.

GarbhaGudi's campaign aims to address the information gap in rural areas by shedding light on crucial facts and dispelling myths, thus fostering a more informed perspective on infertility.

Conceptualized by Dr Asha Vijay, Fertility Specialist and Medical Director at GarbhaGudi IVF, the ‘Ghar Ghar Garbhagudi’ campaign is aimed at separating fact from fiction when it comes to infertility and IVF.

Through the street plays and talks, the campaign will touch upon aspects such as correlation between age and infertility, debunking gender-based stereotypes related to infertility, evidence-based solutions for infertility, and more.

Dr Asha Vijay, Medical Director, GarbhaGudi IVF, said, "At GarbhaGudi, we believe that the first step towards addressing infertility is to build awareness about reproductive health and dispel misinformation around infertility. We are committed to eliminating infertility and helping couples from all walks of life to overcome this challenge.  The ‘Ghar Ghar GarbhaGudi’ campaign is a step in that direction. We want to cover the length and breadth of Karnataka and reach as many households as possible”
