The centre affiliated to Advanced Wound Healing (AWH) Clinics brings together advanced surgical expertise, regenerative therapies, and multidisciplinary care
Advanced Wound Healing (AWH) Clinics has launched India's first dedicated Advanced Wound Healing & Limb Salvage Institution at Moosarambagh, Hyderabad.
Founded by Dr. K.V.N.N. Santosh Murthy, Advanced Wound Surgeon, Chairman of AWH Clinics and State President of the Indian Podiatry Association (Telangana Chapter), the institution aims to provide specialised care focused on advanced wound management, limb preservation, regenerative medicine, and preventive podiatry.
The facility was inaugurated by Bandaru Dattatreya, Former Governor of Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, who also flagged off the 'Happy Feet' public awareness campaign to promote preventive foot care, early detection of diabetic foot complications, and timely medical intervention to reduce avoidable amputations.
The centre brings together advanced surgical expertise, regenerative therapies, and multidisciplinary care to treat patients with diabetic foot disease, chronic non-healing wounds, burns, traumatic injuries, and other limb-threatening conditions.
India is home to more than 100 million people living with diabetes, with Telangana among the states bearing a high disease burden.
AWH Clinics said it has already helped save more than 1,100 limbsover the past three years through its multidisciplinary treatment approach.
Speaking at the inauguration, Bandaru Dattatreya said the institution represents a patient-centric model that combines awareness, advanced treatment, and compassionate care to prevent avoidable amputations, particularly among patients with diabetic foot disease.
Dr. Murthy highlighted the growing burden of diabetes-related foot complications in Telangana, estimating that nearly 250 amputations take place every day in the state, many of which could be prevented through early intervention.
"Every patient who walks into our clinic carries more than a wound. They carry hopes, responsibilities and the desire to remain independent. Saving a limb is not merely preserving anatomy—it is preserving mobility, dignity and quality of life," he said.
