Marking Celiac Disease Awareness Month, Manipal Hospital Dwarka, in collaboration with the Indian Academy of Pediatrics Delhi and the Indian Academy of Pediatrics West Delhi, organised its Annual Celiac Support Group & Kids Wellness Day to strengthen awareness around gut health, early diagnosis and healthy gluten-free living among children.

The event also marked the launch of ‘Oorja’, a dedicated support group aimed at ensuring continuous monitoring, regular follow-ups and healthy growth and development for children living with celiac disease.

The programme saw participation from children, adolescents and parents. Activities included health screenings, expert-led awareness sessions, nutritional guidance, interactive discussions and child-focused engagement programmes.

A major highlight of the event was a panel discussion titled “My Child, My Priority,” which focused on helping parents better understand childhood digestive disorders, growth concerns and the importance of early intervention in celiac disease.

Sufla Saxena, HOD - Paediatrics and Paediatric Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Manipal Hospital Dwarka, said, “Celiac Disease is an autoimmune condition triggered by gluten consumption, which can affect a child’s growth, nutrition, and overall well-being if left untreated.”
