Unihealth Hospitals Limited announced that UMC Hospitals, Nashik, its 200-bed tertiary care multi-specialty hospital, will commence patient services from September 1, 2026, in a move the company describes as a landmark step in its India expansion strategy.

The commissioning follows the hospital's official registration in June 2026 and marks its transition from an infrastructure and pre-operative project to a revenue-generating facility. 

The Nashik hospital adds to UniHealth's existing operational facility in Navi Mumbai, expanding the company's domestic hospital network alongside its healthcare operations in East Africa.

UMC Hospitals, Nashik has been built as a comprehensive tertiary care centre offering a broad range of specialties, including cardiology and interventional cardiology, orthopaedics and spine surgery, neurology and neurosurgery, nephrology, gastroenterology and hepatobiliary surgery, oncology, urology, and comprehensive mother and child care, among others.

UniHealth said the Nashik facility substantially increases its addressable hospital capacity in India and is expected to benefit from operating leverage as occupancy improves, given that a large share of hospital infrastructure and operating costs are relatively fixed. 

The company reported consolidated total income of Rs. 137.01 crore for FY2026, with EBITDA of Rs. 58.82 crore and net profit attributable to equity shareholders of Rs. 25.83 crore.

Management said the Nashik commissioning is expected to serve as an additional growth engine from FY2027 onward, complementing the continued ramp-up of its Navi Mumbai hospital and its East Africa operations.

UniHealth's stated long-term objective is to build a network of tertiary and specialty healthcare facilities exceeding 1,000 commissioned beds across India and Africa.

Dr. Akshay Parmar, Managing Director of Unihealth Hospitals Limited, said the commencement of services at Nashik was "a landmark milestone in UniHealth's growth journey" that extends beyond the addition of 200 beds, strengthening the company's presence in India and its tertiary care capabilities.
