Ajooni Biotech to establish first Oxygen Park in Punjab

Ajooni Biotech Limited, a Punjab based agro tech company is in the process of setting up an Oxygen Park at Village Behra. Tehsil Derabassi of Mohali District in the state of Punjab.

Oxygen Park is a concept where a two-layer layout is being used to plant oxygen releasing trees which releases oxygen for 24 hours.  Bamboo is a wonder plant and can be a game changer for the climate problem, as bamboo sequesters 3-4 times more C02 than any other plant and releases 35% more oxygen than other plants.

A fully grown bamboo tree to its best growth generates over 300 kg of oxygen every year, and it is just sufficient for one person for a whole year. One adult human being requires about 850 gram oxygen in a day.

One Bamboo pole can cover almost 80 c/o of the adult requirement and one tree is enough for a family as an oxygen generator. Further, it can absorb 80 tonnes of carbon dioxide per acre every year. One mature Beema bamboo after four years sequesters (absorbs) more than 400 kg of carbon dioxide annually from the surrounding areas.

The company has approached a Denmark based Green Energy company for technical assistance and international funding for this project which has rich experience and is already engaged in setting up Oxygen Parks in many countries.

Bamboo plantation not only increases forest cover of the state but also provides additional oxygen in the air other than offering natural air conditioning effect with substantial reduction of temperature & attracting higher rains in the state which will prove blessings for the state.

The Government of India is encouraging setting up Oxygen Park for all declared smart cities. It will also have an opportunity to promote health tourism in the state.

The Project will be covered under National Bamboo Mission and Bamboo Development policy of NABARD.
