Akums kicks off FY27 on strong footing as Q1 revenue jumps 13.9%

Akums Drugs and Pharmaceuticals has started FY27 on a strong note, reporting a 13.9% year-on-year rise in operating revenue and a sharp improvement in profitability for the quarter ended June 30, 2026.
 
The company reported operating revenue of Rs. 1,167 crore in Q1 FY27, up from Rs. 1,024 crore in the year-ago quarter. EBITDA rose 35.4% YoY to Rs. 175 crore, pushing the EBITDA margin to 15% from 12.6% a year earlier.
 
Profit after tax (PAT) surged to Rs. 101 crore, compared with Rs. 65 crore in Q1 FY26, while PAT margin expanded to 8.4% from 6.2%.
 
The company’s CDMO business remained the main growth engine, with revenue climbing to Rs. 964 crore from Rs. 813 crore in Q1 FY26. CDMO EBITDA rose 36.8% YoY to Rs. 163 crore from Rs. 119 crore, aided by continued volume growth and improved API prices.
 
Akums also reported sequential improvement in profitability. EBITDA rose from Rs. 152 crore in Q4 FY26 to Rs. 175 crore in the June quarter, while PAT increased from Rs. 81 crore to Rs. 101 crore.
