Alkem Labs reports 11% revenue growth in Q1 FY27

Total revenue from operations for the quarter stood at Rs. 37,402 million, up 10.9% year-over-year

Alkem Laboratories Ltd. has announced its standalone and consolidated financial results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026, with the Board of Directors taking record of the results at a meeting held in Mumbai.

Total revenue from operations for Q1 FY27 stood at Rs. 37,402 million, up 10.9% year-over-year. India sales came in at Rs. 24,978 million, growing 10.3% YoY, while international sales rose 16.0% to Rs. 12,223 million.

EBITDA stood at Rs. 7,661 million, translating to an EBITDA margin of 20.5%, up 3.7% YoY. R&D expenses for the quarter were Rs. 1,502 million, representing 4.0% of total revenue, up from Rs. 1,184 million (3.5% of revenue) in Q1 FY26.

Profit before tax, before exceptional items, grew 1.8% YoY to Rs. 7,720 million. However, net profit after non-controlling interest fell sharply, declining 21.7% YoY to Rs. 5,200 million.

Domestic sales contributed 67.1% of total sales in Q1 FY27, slightly down from 68.2% in Q1 FY26. According to IQVIA (SSA) data, Alkem grew 13.2% YoY against the Indian Pharmaceutical Market's (IPM) growth of 12.2%, an outperformance of 100 basis points.

Sandeep Singh, Managing Director of Alkem noted that the India business continued to outperform the market, while growth in non-US international markets was encouraging. 

At the same time, Singh acknowledged areas requiring improvement, particularly around strengthening execution, addressing operational and regulatory priorities, and improving consistency of performance across the business. 

He added that the company continues to invest in R&D, MedTech and Biotech as it builds its next phase of growth, with a focus on strengthening its core business, addressing improvement areas, and building these newer opportunities in a disciplined manner.
