Apollo AyurVAID launches India’s first ‘Tested Safe’ ayurveda products

Apollo AyurVAID’s product line features clinically proven formulations certified safe by NABL-accredited laboratories for heavy metals, aflatoxins, microbial content

Apollo AyurVAID, India’s leading NABH-accredited precision Ayurveda hospital network, announces its entry into the Ayurveda product segment, marking a significant step beyond clinical care. The new range includes classical formulations, OTC products, and medical foods, developed to meet the growing demand for safe, clinically validated Ayurveda products in India’s ~ ₹60,000 crore market growing at over 16% annually.

Apollo AyurVAID’s product line features clinically proven formulations certified safe by NABL-accredited laboratories for heavy metals, aflatoxins, microbial content, and more, as applicable to each product type. Apollo AyurVAID’s products set a new safety standard in the Ayurveda market, with consumers able to verify test results via a QR code on the packaging for every product. This reinforces Apollo AyurVAID’s commitment to offering safe, standardised, and effective Ayurveda products that customers can fully trust.

Dr. Preetha Reddy, Executive Vice Chairperson, Apollo Hospitals and Chairperson, Apollo AyurVAID said, “Apollo AyurVAID’s foray into tested-safe Ayurveda products marks a key step in redefining standards of safety, transparency, and effectiveness in traditional medicine. This expansion builds on a strong foundation of clinical excellence and shows our deep commitment to evidence-based, precision Ayurveda. By blending innovation with time-tested wisdom, Apollo AyurVAID is shaping the future of integrative medicine in India and beyond.”

Commenting on this strategic initiative, Rajiv Vasudevan, Founder, MD, and CEO, Apollo AyurVAID said, “With two decades of clinical excellence, we are bringing our understanding of precision Ayurveda into a high-potential consumer space. This new vertical supports our inpatient-outpatient care model, creates scalable revenue opportunities, and strengthens our vision of making evidence-based Ayurveda services and products globally accessible. We expect this portfolio to be a key growth driver, with a revenue goal of ₹500 crores in the next 5 years.”

The Ayurveda products division will operate as a business unit within Apollo AyurVAID, while remaining committed to personalised, safe, outcomes-based precision Ayurveda. While classical formulations will be prescription-based, the OTC and medical foods will be sold through retail and digital platforms. The OTC range includes new product formats like creams, transdermal pads, and essential extracts designed for specific groups (women, children, elderly) and uses (pain, sleep, stress, skin, etc.), with high medical content to ensure top performance.

Apollo AyurVAID recently partnered with integrated systems biology platform company Avesthagen Limited to co-develop scientifically validated botanical-based dietary supplements that are sugar-free and free of artificial colours and flavours. This will be followed by an Ayurveda-based medical foods range for specific clinical uses.

The classical and OTC product ranges are branded ‘AyurVAID’ while the dietary supplements are branded ‘AvestaAyurVAID’. This strategic move reinforces Apollo AyurVAID’s vision to build a credible, science-led ecosystem for precision Ayurveda and evolve into a full-spectrum Ayurveda company.

“As we enter the Ayurveda products space, our bigger vision is to take the Apollo AyurVAID brand across India. This fiscal, we plan to expand our hospital network in an asset-light model by adding 9 new locations, increasing our bed capacity to 350, and treating over 50,000 patients. With a CAGR of 75% over the last 2–3 years, we are on track to cross ₹100 crore in annualised revenue by mid next year—an unprecedented milestone in the Ayurveda services sector. This is just the beginning of our journey to take Apollo AyurVAID, India’s most credible precision Ayurveda care, to every corner of the country and the world,” added Mr. Rajiv Vasudevan.

Distribution for the new range will follow a multi-tier approach, with availability through Apollo AyurVAID hospitals and clinics, the company’s website, Apollo Pharmacies, Apollo 24|7, and leading e-commerce platforms. This integrated channel strategy is aimed at reaching a wider audience.
