Avio Smart Market Stack Limited (ASMS), formerly Bartronics India Limited, has launched an expanded collaboration with Huwel Lifesciences to bring a suite of patented molecular diagnostic products to healthcare markets across India.
The move follows a recently signed Shareholders’ Agreement between the two companies, aimed at scaling advanced diagnostic technologies for institutional and healthcare use nationwide.
Huwel Lifesciences, a leading developer of molecular diagnostic solutions, has multiple patented technologies and a robust pipeline of new products in development. Its portfolio includes RT-PCR diagnostic kits, point-of-care testing devices, and disease detection panels—all designed, developed, and manufactured in-house.
Positioning itself as a fully indigenous diagnostics innovator, Huwel aligns closely with the Government of India’s “Make in India” initiative, making it one of the few Indian companies capable of producing most components of its molecular diagnostic platforms domestically.
India represents one of the world’s largest markets for infectious disease diagnostics. Tens of millions of tests are conducted annually for conditions such as tuberculosis, HIV, and hepatitis, with the market for these diseases alone estimated to exceed ₹5,000 crore.
Huwel’s diagnostic solutions leverage open RT-PCR systems, allowing rapid, cost-efficient tuberculosis detection on laboratory infrastructure deployed nationwide during the COVID-19 pandemic. This scalable approach enables widespread public health testing without the need for significant new investments.
The company’s tuberculosis molecular diagnostic platform has already secured regulatory approvals. Using the same technology, Huwel has also developed diagnostics for HIV, HPV-based cervical cancer screening, antimicrobial resistance (AMR) surveillance, hepatitis, and other infectious diseases.
As part of the partnership, ASMS will drive commercialization, institutional engagement, and go-to-market strategies, drawing on its digital infrastructure and experience managing large-scale health programs.
