BASF Pharma Solutions has confirmed a global price increase for its excipients and selected active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), citing rising energy and raw material costs.

The company said the increase—up to 20%—takes effect immediately, or as current contracts allow. “This adjustment supports BASF’s commitment to maintaining a reliable supply of high-quality products across its portfolio amid rising global energy and raw material costs,” the company said.

Excipients, the inactive ingredients essential to pharmaceutical formulations, and APIs, the components responsible for a medicine’s therapeutic effect, are both impacted. BASF Pharma Solutions added that it will continue to monitor market conditions and communicate any future adjustments as needed.
