Maiva Pharma has inaugurated its new state-of-the-art sterile injectables manufacturing facility at Shoolagiri in Tamil Nadu, marking a major milestone in the company’s expansion strategy and reinforcing its position as a global contract manufacturing and contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) partner for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.

Spread across a 22-acre site, the facility has been designed to support growing global demand for complex sterile injectable products through advanced manufacturing technologies, scalable production capabilities, and world-class quality systems. 

The investment significantly expands Maiva Pharma’s manufacturing footprint and positions the company to serve regulated international markets with a broader portfolio of injectable therapies.

Upon full development, the facility will house six manufacturing lines capable of producing a diverse range of sterile injectable dosage forms, including liquid vials, pre-filled syringes, cartridges, suspension products, and lyophilized formulations.

As part of the first phase of development, Maiva Pharma has commissioned three dedicated manufacturing lines comprising a high-speed vial filling line, an integrated pre-filled syringe and cartridge production line, and a lyophilization line. 

The facility is also equipped with advanced Quality Control chemical laboratories and state-of-the-art microbiology laboratories, enabling comprehensive in-house analytical testing and quality assurance capabilities.

Dr. Bhaskar Krishna, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Maiva Pharma, said the Shoolagiri facility represents a significant step in the company's ambition to become a globally preferred partner for sterile injectable manufacturing.
