To honor the girl child, and to raise awareness about unequal sex ratio, illiteracy among women, and female foeticide in India, MedScapeIndia  launched a poster of the ‘Girl Child Anthem’ . Dr Sunita Dube has conceptualized & made content of a unique song & composed by Vardhan Singh, the song video will feature girl achievers from different walks of life & different fields of people supporting the initiative. There is still a growing concern regarding gender equality and the need for a safer World for women and girls.

This year, MedScapeIndia has come up with a unique Girl child Anthem to celebrate the girl child achievement “People from all walks of life participate in our yearly program. This year being special and marking the 15 years of MedScapeIndia efforts, they have launched a poster of the anthem composed to highlight the achievements of girls.

“The girl child anthem will portray a celebration of a girl child. Their role and empowerment are courage, strength, and participation. The aim is to reach a large number of people all over the world and the songs will be translated in various languages.

Dube, a Renowned Radiologist, Philanthropist, and visionary said, “In 2008, the female foeticide rate was high. So, we started a program to save the girl child at that time. Being a doctor and radiologist, I wanted to create awareness on the importance of Girl child on female foeticide issue as a lot of quacks were doing sonography, to celebrate our annual girl child on 11 October regarding their achievements and contribution. Today, we have come a long way and were able to work successfully for the upliftment and betterment of women.”

Dube added, “A girl child should be given equal opportunity, she is playing a crucial part in development and growth of the Nation and strives hard for the betterment of society and economy of the country. So, setting up a role model in every field is important which can inspire women. In fact, I come from a village background and was the first doctor in the school which my grandfather had started. Today, more than 6000 students from that school are getting educated and some of them have become engineers, Doctors and IAS officers or even joined the army.  I started the save the girl child campaign 15 years ago and we conducted various flagship Programs annual self-defense training programs, health camps, education and educational cultural programs in which women and girls participate in large numbers. Massive impact has been appreciated.’

It is the need of the hour to create awareness, generate women empowerment and provide education to every girl. Now, to motivate & celebrate the Girl child & women, Anthem has been composed a song that will boost their morale, and confidence to do better and achieve their goals, Dube adds.
