Medtronic has announced a major multi-year renewal and expansion of its global strategic alliance with GE HealthCare, aiming to transform hospital care with next-generation technology.
The partnership, which spans more than three decades, is set to accelerate clinical innovation and help healthcare providers deliver smarter, safer, and more efficient care.
The expansion will see Medtronic technologies integrated across GE HealthCare’s Patient Care Solutions platforms, including wireless wearable devices and advanced anesthesia airway visualization.
“Our expanded alliance with GE HealthCare reflects our commitment to empowering healthcare professionals with world-class technology to personalize patient care, anytime, anywhere,” said Kate Benedict, president of the Medtronic Acute Care & Monitoring business.
“Expanding access to our combined technologies and commercial solutions allows hospitals to streamline their operations, reduce inefficiencies, and ultimately empower clinicians to focus on what matters most: their patients.”
The collaboration will bring Medtronic’s clinically advanced monitoring tools—Nellcor pulse oximetry, Microstream capnography, INVOS regional oximetry, and BIS brain monitoring—into GE HealthCare’s monitoring platforms, including Maternal-Infant Care. Integrations also extend to FlexAcuity, CARESCAPE Canvas, and Carevance monitors, enabling patient-adaptable monitoring and tailored treatments across hospital environments.
Jason Case, vice president of research and development for Medtronic Acute Care & Monitoring, emphasized the focus on innovation: “We are excited to continue to collaborate with GE HealthCare to bring our newest innovations in wireless wearable monitoring and seamless streaming video laryngoscopy from Medtronic to GE HealthCare’s anesthesia and monitoring platforms."
"Expanding our deep, long-standing strategic alliance with GE HealthCare helps ensure timely access to the latest innovative technologies for both clinicians and their patients.”
The renewed alliance also includes expanded commercial initiatives aimed at reducing costs, harmonizing technology platforms, and accelerating clinical transformation. Together, the companies plan to deliver integrated enterprise solutions designed to improve patient outcomes and drive healthcare innovation across the continuum of care.
