Pfizer India clarifies Premarin Vaginal Cream temporarily discontinued due to supply constraints

Company tells NSE the imported menopause-care product contributes less than 1% of revenue and the disruption is not expected to materially affect financial performance

Pfizer Limited has clarified that Premarin Vaginal Cream, an imported product used in menopause care, has been temporarily discontinued in India due to supply constraints and that the company is working to restore supplies at the earliest.

The clarification was issued in response to a query from the National Stock Exchange (NSE) regarding a media report titled “Pfizer suspends Premarin vaginal cream in India, raising concerns over menopause care” published in The Hindu BusinessLine.

In its filing, Pfizer stated that the product contributes less than 1% of the company’s revenue and that the temporary discontinuation is not expected to have any material impact on the company’s financial performance, business operations or profitability.

The company further noted that, given the immaterial financial contribution of the product, the temporary discontinuation did not constitute a material event requiring disclosure under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

Pfizer added that it remains committed to making timely disclosures of all material events and information in accordance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
