Efficient batch management to identify expired or defective items and timely alerts to ensure customer safety

In a move to optimise e-commerce operations for a wide variety of its own branded products, digital healthcare company Tata 1mg has partnered with Unicommerce, one of India’s leading e-commerce enablement SaaS platforms, to enhance its order processing and logistics efficiency.

Unicommerce’s technology will automate order processing for the brand, enable accurate tracking of stock levels and utilise demand forecasting to minimize overstocking, thereby ensuring timely product availability across facilities. This will lead to fast and error-free fulfilment of its products across 1000+ cities in India.

Tata 1mg, under its own brand, offers products from a diverse selection of categories including nutritional supplements, medical devices, orthopaedic supports, personal care & ayurveda. The brand’s product offerings have rapidly scaled across online platforms to take leadership positions across a large number of categories.

Tata 1mg has deployed Unicommerce’s multi-channel order management and warehouse management systems to streamline its backend operations for orders received on its website and across various marketplaces, ensuring an enhanced shopping experience for its end customers.

Unicommerce’s batching facility will enable quick identification of faulty and expired products, triggering actions like initiating recall or prioritising sales by generating alerts for a batch nearing its expiry date.

India’s e-pharmacy market was valued at USD 394.09 million in 2024 and is anticipated to grow to USD 801.34 million by 2030. The retail e-pharmacy trends are driven by the convenience of online ordering, providing access to a wide range of pharmaceutical products and increased digital adoption across tier-1 and tier-2 cites.

Ketan Bhatia, Vice President – Consumer Products of Tata 1mg mentioned about the recent partnership, “As a leading online health & wellness brand, we are committed to providing our customers a seamless shopping experience for our wide range of effective & high-quality products. Our partnership with Unicommerce is a step towards strengthening our e-commerce operations to enhance the buying experience for our customers across the country.

Speaking about the association, Kapil Makhija, MD & CEO of Unicommerce said, “Healthcare brands are embracing technology to optimise their digital channels, providing timely deliveries to end customers, which is a critical factor in this sector. We are privileged to support Tata 1mg in their journey to offer rich wellness experiences.
