WFNS opens doors to industry in landmark Neurosurgery Innovation Pact with Time Med

The move signals a strategic pivot toward deeper integration between clinical leadership and medical technology developers

In a historic shift for global neurosurgical governance, the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS) has announced its first-ever formal industry partnership with Time Medical International Ventures, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fischer Medical Ventures.

The collaboration marks a turning point for WFNS, which has until now operated without formal industry participation in its innovation ecosystem. The move signals a strategic pivot toward deeper integration between clinical leadership and medical technology developers.

“For the first time in the history of the WFNS Innovation Committee, we are opening our doors to the private sector. This partnership reflects our commitment to bringing together the most innovative minds and transformative technologies to advance neurosurgical care globally.

"Time Medical International Ventures has demonstrated exceptional capabilities in innovation and clinical technology, making them an ideal partner as we work collectively to shape the future of neurosurgery," WFNS said.

“This collaboration will help champion the development and global dissemination of cutting-edge neurosurgical solutions, facilitate knowledge exchange between leading neurosurgeons and industry experts, and support training and technology transfer initiatives in emerging markets.

"We believe this partnership will set a new benchmark for industry collaboration within global neurosurgical governance.”

The partnership will focus on accelerating innovation in neurosurgical technologies, advancing medical imaging systems, and expanding global training and capacity-building programs. It also aims to strengthen collaboration between clinicians and industry innovators to improve patient outcomes worldwide.

Time Medical International said: “We are honoured to be welcomed as an Industry Partner by the WFNS Innovation & Technology Committee. This collaboration represents a shared vision of advancing neurosurgical excellence through innovation, technology, and global cooperation.

"As a wholly owned subsidiary of Fischer Medical Ventures Limited, we remain committed to supporting transformative healthcare solutions that improve accessibility, precision, and patient outcomes across diverse healthcare systems.”

WFNS officials described the agreement as a model for future global partnerships between clinical bodies and the medical technology industry.

With this move, WFNS positions itself at the forefront of a new era—where medical governance and industry innovation converge to reshape the future of brain and spine care.
