Barentz appoints Matt Mitchell as Global Vice President, Pharmaceuticals

Mitchell brings more than 25 years of experience in the specialty ingredients industry, including pharmaceutical leadership roles at IFF Pharma Solutions, DuPont and FMC

Barentz has appointed Matt Mitchell as Global Vice President, Pharmaceuticals, following his tenure as Interim Head of the Pharmaceuticals Division since March 2026.

Mitchell, who will continue as a member of Barentz’s Executive Leadership Team, brings more than 25 years of experience in the specialty ingredients industry, including pharmaceutical leadership roles at IFF Pharma Solutions, DuPont and FMC.

In his new role, Mitchell will lead Barentz’s global Pharmaceuticals division, a key strategic business serving customers and principal partners across pharmaceutical ingredients, excipients, nutraceutical actives, biopharma and intermediates.

The division has a growing presence across Europe, the Americas and Asia-Pacific, combining technical expertise, regulatory support and market knowledge to support customers in developing and commercialising healthcare products.

“Matt has demonstrated exceptional leadership, strategic insight, and a strong commitment to our customers, principals, and teams around the world,” said Christian Barker, Chief Commercial Officer, Barentz. “His appointment ensures continuity while positioning our Pharmaceuticals division for continued success and growth.”

Mitchell succeeds Anthony Litchfield, who led the Pharmaceuticals division through a period of significant growth and development. Barentz said it thanked Litchfield for his contributions and wished him success in his future endeavours.
