The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has appointed Dr. Rajesh Jain, Chairman and Managing Director of Panacea Biotec, as the Chairman of the CII National Committee on Biotechnology for the forthcoming term.

The CII National Committee on Biotechnology is expected to play a significant role in strengthening India's biotechnology ecosystem through policy advocacy, innovation-led growth, research collaborations, and enhanced industry-government engagement.

Under Dr. Jain’s leadership, the Committee will focus on advancing a globally competitive biotechnology sector by accelerating scientific innovation, promoting translational research, encouraging investments in biotechnology, and supporting India's ambition of becoming a leading global bioeconomy.

Dr. Jain brings extensive experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors and has been instrumental in driving innovation, vaccine development, and healthcare advancements through his leadership at Panacea Biotec.

The Committee's agenda for the upcoming term will include initiatives aimed at strengthening India's innovation ecosystem, facilitating research and development partnerships, promoting biotechnology entrepreneurship, and enhancing the country's global competitiveness in life sciences.
