Pfizer appoints Meenakshi Nevatia as MD and Additional Director

She is a seasoned leader with nearly 30 years of business leadership and consulting experience with top companies such as Mckinsey and Co, Novartis Pharmaceuticals and Stryker India Pvt. Ltd.

Pfizer Limited has appointed Meenakshi Nevatia as an Additional Director and Managing Director for a period of five years with effect from 3rd April, 2023. 
 
She succeeds S. Sridhar, who announced his early retirement in August 2022 and has submitted his resignation with effect from March 31, 2023. The company places on record its appreciation for the leadership, guidance and support provided by S. Sridhar during his tenure.
 
Meenakshi is a seasoned leader with nearly 30 years of business leadership and consulting experience with top companies such as Mckinsey and Co, Novartis Pharmaceuticals and more recently as Vice President & Managing Director for Stryker India Pvt. Ltd. Meenakshi has worked in over 8 countries (developed and emerging) and has held several General Management roles across multiple markets such as Thailand, Spain (Iberia), and India.
 
Nevatia started her career with McKinsey & Company in 1994, where she led various projects in the Healthcare Practice (Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices & Health Insurance) across several markets including India, Singapore, US, and South Africa.
 
Prior to joining Stryker, Nevatia had a successful 15-year stint with Novartis, where she served in various sales, marketing and business leadership positions across geographies including Switzerland, UK, Spain, Hong Kong, and Thailand. During her time at Stryker, Nevatia successfully turned business performance around and evolved the organization to focus on talent development, category specialization and customer engagement. Her last role in Novartis was as Country President and Pharma Division head for Novartis in Thailand.
 
Meenakshi received her Bachelor’s in Science (Economics) from Presidency College, Kolkata, India and completed her Post Graduate Diploma in Management in Strategy and Finance from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA).

The appointment of Meenakshi will be subject to approval of shareholders through the postal ballot and central government.
