The Department of Pharmaceuticals (DoP), Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), will organise the 9th edition of India Medical Device 2026 on August 7-8 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. 

Themed "Towards Viksit Bharat: Advancing India as a Global Hub for Quality Medical Devices," the conference will bring together policymakers, regulators, industry leaders, healthcare institutions, academia, innovators and global stakeholders to discuss the future of India's rapidly growing medical devices sector.

Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers Jagat Prakash Nadda will address the conference on "Atmanirbhar MedTech: Accelerating India's Journey towards Viksit Bharat" on August 8, highlighting the government's vision for building a globally competitive and innovation-driven medical devices ecosystem. 

Union Minister of State Anupriya Patel, Department of Pharmaceuticals Secretary Manoj Joshi, Health Secretary Punya Salila Srivastava, Drugs Controller General of India Dr. Rajeev Singh Raghuvanshi, NITI Aayog Member (Health) Dr. M. Srinivas, along with senior government officials, CEOs, industry experts, start-ups and academic leaders, are expected to participate.

The two-day conference will focus on key priorities for the MedTech sector, including localisation of medical device component manufacturing, strengthening testing infrastructure and quality assurance, advancing artificial intelligence and Software as a Medical Device (SaMD), improving clinical evidence generation and regulatory pathways.

India's medical devices industry, currently valued at over USD 15 billion, is among the fastest-growing segments of the healthcare sector.

The government said its growth has been driven by initiatives such as the National Medical Devices Policy 2023, the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme, establishment of Medical Device Parks, stronger regulatory frameworks, and continued emphasis on research, innovation and quality manufacturing.
