The National Pharma Pricing Authority (NPPA), has issued a notice to all importers and manufacturers of knee implants for knee replacement systems to furnish their prices and also the availability by August 12^th in a prescribed format.

NPPA has been active in monitoring the availability of various products and has been meeting representatives of medical devices and associations to gauge the ground situation.

The notification has highlighted 18 categories of products made using different raw materials. They have to mention whether it is imported or made locally, the price to the distributor and the price to stockist and the MRP as of June 2021 respectively.

The manufacturers and distributors should also disclose their turnover and quantity sold for the period July 2019-June 2020 and July 2020 to June 2021.
