The Ministry of Ayush has provided technical inputs to the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) for integrating Ayush systems into the proposed regional medical hubs announced in the Union Budget 2026–27, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ayush Prataprao Jadhav informed the Lok Sabha.

The regional medical hubs, for which DPIIT is the nodal department, are being developed in consultation with multiple ministries, including the Ministry of Ayush, to strengthen India's healthcare ecosystem.

The Minister said the Ministry is also working closely with the World Health Organization (WHO), including through the WHO Global Traditional Medicine Centre (GTMC) at Jamnagar, to promote research, evidence-based practices, capacity building and international cooperation in traditional medicine.

Among the key milestones highlighted was the establishment and operationalisation of the WHO Global Traditional Medicine Centre under the Host Country Agreement between the Government of India and WHO. 

The Ministry also organised the first WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine in Gandhinagar in 2023, which resulted in the Gujarat Declaration, followed by the second summit in New Delhi in 2025 that culminated in the Delhi Declaration and the announcement of SMART commitments for implementing the WHO Global Traditional Medicine Strategy 2025–2034.

The Ministry has also contributed to the development of global research priorities, technical expert networks, traditional medicine data standards and the WHO Traditional Medicine Global Library, while work continues on developing the GTMC campus at Jamnagar into a global centre for research, innovation, training and international collaboration.

To strengthen digital access to traditional medicine, the Ministry has developed several technology platforms through the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), including the Ayur-Prakriti Web Portal, Swasthya Assessment Scale Portal, Admirable Personalities to Transform Ayurveda (APTA) Digital Library, Ayush Manuscripts Advanced Repository (AMAR) among others.
