The platform is designed to support efficient protein maturation and proteolytic processing while delivering enhanced biologic activity and higher yields for complex coagulation factors
ProBioGen has entered into a collaboration with Netherlands-based VarmX B.V. to support the development of the company's second therapeutic Factor X candidate, further strengthening its position in the development of complex coagulation factor biologics.
Under the partnership, ProBioGen will develop a production cell line for VarmX's Factor X program using its proprietary HEK293 host cell platform combined with its DirectedLuck transposase technology.
The platform is designed to support efficient protein maturation and proteolytic processing while delivering enhanced biologic activity and higher yields for complex coagulation factors.
The collaboration builds on ProBioGen's experience in developing coagulation factor therapeutics, including Factor VII and Factor VIII programs.
Dr. Volker Sandig, Chief Scientific Officer of ProBioGen, said the company's HEK293 platform is well suited to address the unique development challenges associated with coagulation factors and will support VarmX's efforts to advance its next-generation therapeutic candidate.
Pieter Reitsma, Founder of VarmX B.V., said ProBioGen was selected based on its proven expertise in coagulation factor development and its specialised HEK293 technology, which will help accelerate the company's second Factor X program.
