Bisleri expands CSR support for rural mental health programme in MP

Three-year CSR partnership to scale community-led mental healthcare access across Chhindwara district

Bisleri International has entered a three-year CSR partnership with The Live Love Laugh Foundation to support the expansion of its rural community mental health programme in Chhindwara district, Madhya Pradesh, strengthening access to care in underserved geographies and advancing a sustainable, community-led support model.

Founded by Deepika Padukone, the programme was launched in January 2023 in the Sausar block, initially covering 60 villages. It has since expanded to 134 villages, reaching 1,595 beneficiaries, and has now entered the Bichua block, adding 42 more villages and supporting 200 persons living with mental illness (PwMI).

With Bisleri’s support, the initiative is expected to deepen its outreach across the wider Chhindwara district while building village-level systems that communities can eventually sustain independently.

“At Bisleri, we believe that enduring change is rooted in empowering communities with the awareness and resources to shape their own futures,” said Jayanti Chauhan, Vice Chairperson, Bisleri International. “Mental health, though integral to overall well-being, continues to remain under-recognised, particularly in rural India. We are proud to support this work in Chhindwara and hope it fosters greater understanding, accessibility, and a more compassionate ecosystem of care.”

Deepika Padukone said the rural programme remains central to the foundation’s mission of improving awareness, accessibility and affordability of mental healthcare in India.

“Their support enables us to scale the programme and move closer to our goal of building a sustainable, community-led mental health system,” she said.

The foundation’s rural mental health programme currently operates across districts in Karnataka, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh, supporting PwMI and caregivers through an integrated framework of awareness generation, early identification, treatment access, caregiver empowerment and strong community participation.
