Yashoda Medicity has launched a dedicated Thalassemia Care Centre aimed at delivering comprehensive, multidisciplinary, and lifelong support to patients and their families.

The facility was inaugurated by Sunil Kumar Sharma, Minister for IT and Electronics, Government of Uttar Pradesh, marking an important step towards advancing specialised haematology care in the region.

The newly launched centre is among the region’s most comprehensive facilities exclusively focused on addressing the complex medical and long-term care needs of thalassemia patients under one roof.

As part of the launch programme, Yashoda Medicity also organised a Thalassemia Masterclass and a dedicated blood donation drive, underlining the critical role of voluntary and regular blood donation in ensuring uninterrupted transfusion support for patients dependent on lifelong care.

Dr. P.N. Arora, Chairman and Managing Director of Yashoda Group of Hospitals, said, “Through this dedicated centre at Yashoda Medicity, we aim to deliver integrated and compassionate treatment that enhances both survival and quality of life for patients. We are equally committed to increasing awareness around prenatal screening, genetic counselling, and early diagnosis to help families make informed healthcare decisions.”

Dr. Nivedita Dhingra, Director & Head, Hematology, Hemato-Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant, added, “This centre brings together all critical services — from specialised haematology care and daycare transfusion facilities to iron chelation therapy, advanced diagnostics, and more — within a single coordinated ecosystem focused on seamless and outcome-driven patient care.”
